Disney’s Frozen is one of the best Disney films ever according to my granddaughter.
Sisters Anna and Elsa are true heroines not damsels waiting to be rescued by a handsome prince and that alone makes for a refreshing change. Immediately after the movie’s release the brilliant folks at Disney added Frozen to their [easyazon_link asin=”B00AXI9WFS” locale=”US” new_window=”default” tag=”baswiebmo-20″ add_to_cart=”default” cloaking=”default” localization=”default” nofollow=”default” popups=”default”]DISNEY INFINITY Starter Pack Xbox 360[/easyazon_link] and thus began my personal introduction to the holodeck for kids.
It seems like only yesterday we were tooling around in Epcot’s Spaceship Earth marveling at what the future might hold. Remember the animatronic children doing their homework via computer screens located in different countries? It seemed almost impossible then, and now we take it for granted. We chat face-to-face with friends and family on the other side of the world as if it had always been that way.
The next step after Disney’s Infinity Game is for Scotty to begin beaming us up. I’d like to be around for the first transporter beam. I just hope a fly doesn’t get stuck in the tube with me.
So much has changed since the 1980’s when we were given a glimpse of the world of the future in that mind-boggling portal called Epcot. The city of the future, that we may have doubted, is here but with more bells and whistles than imagined.
Disney’s Infinity Games is yet another peek into the future. Through this “magic” we enter computer-generated movies and direct the actions of the characters in self-constructed video game adventures. The Infinity Play Set opens an artificial environment like Star Trek’s holodeck. Once in the simulated world you can bring the different Disney characters you’ve purchased into their specific worlds. You are only limited by your imagination.
Yesterday my granddaughter and I spent hours watching Sulley, Mr. Incredible, Captain Jack Sparrow, and Jack Skellington cavort around my living room. It’s kind of freaky in a fun way. Today Elsa and Anna from Frozen will join us and try not to freeze our startled real-life cat.
The player and his toy pieces can conduct an adventure alone, with a friend in the same room, or a friend on the other side of the world. You can play on a television screen, online, or on an iPad.
One video is worth a thousand words, so take a peek at this YouTube sample of how it works. http://youtu.be/CVBK3G1flZU
Don’t be timid. You don’t know what you are missing! Your kids will walk you through it. This is so NOT a commercial for the Infinity Frozen Game set, merely a heads-up from a grandmother who is having a blast with the new easy to use technology. The movie became so popular when it came out in November that the Anna and Elsa figurines and their adventures were sold out within days of being released. Like any good grandparent I found myself begging for that one remaining game set I knew someone was hiding. I harassed the Disney team, when I discovered Amazon was sold out I panicked. I headed for a side-street alley to meet with a dude who had a set for sale, cash only. But then I got lucky… smart and lucky… and found one remaining set on eBay. I paid the scalper… I mean entrepreneur… a hefty markup over the retail price.
Jump in while you can. Enter the Amazon portal below and place your order for the Disney Infinity Game Pack. You can buy one Disney movie grouping or grab them all… except Elsa and Anna. There’s still a bit of a wait. Don’t be shy. It’s easy to use and so darn much fun. Next step… “Beam me up, Scotty!”
